Van Phuc silk village, located in Van Phuc Ward, Ha Dong district, about 10 km from Hanoi center, has already attracted travelers with many unique patterns with long history of development from ancient Vietnam until now. Van Phuc silk is famous for its traditional silk panels, they are woven from natural silk, giving a soft, smooth, and delicate appearance that never been found in different areas of Vietnam or even in the world. Because of this specialty, Van Phuc silk was chosen as the material for national uniform under the Nguyen Dynasty.

In order to visit the Van Phuc village, visitors can choose the extended Le Van Luong street, or go along Nguyen Trai street to Ha Dong crossroad, then turn to Van Phuc street. It is not difficult to recognize the village on the banks of the Nhue River with the main gate bearing the words “Van Phuc Village”.

Right next to the gate is Van Phuc Pagoda. Along with perfume of incense is the silence often seen in Vietnamese temples. Grasses, flowers, lotus ponds, and curved wooden bridges will leave tourists a relaxed and loving feeling.

A small brick leads into the traditional silk display area. On the left, near the entrance is a wooden loom from the beginning of the 19th century. Nowadays, when mechanical looms are increasingly popular, this is one of the few traditional looms left at the Van Phuc Village.

In the interior, visitors will discover the sophisticated products from silk, such as towels, dresses, purses, … At the same time, visitors also learn about the process of weaving silk with pattern looms. In addition to exploring the process of silk production, visitors can easily choose their own products in the showroom and sell products here. One of the most prestigious and famous addresses is the Silk weaving workshop of Artist Trieu Van Mao. This is a pretty interesting place for tourists to visit and enjoy coffee at the workshop to continue for the next journey.

Looking back to the village, tourists can continue to visit Thanh Hoang Temple located not far from Van Phuc Pagoda for over 1100 years, the historical evidence of a village.
