1. The highway Noi Bai – Lao Cai to Sapa.
To travel by bus from Hanoi to Sapa, people need to start from Hanoi to Lao Cai, and then from Lao Cai to Sapa.
To save the time, the tourist should go to Lao Cai through the highway Noi Bai – Lao Cai, which was extended, upgraded and opened in 2015. It is 245km and takes about 3.5 hours from Hanoi to Lao Cai.
*Note: the motorbike is forbidden in the highway Hanoi – Lao Cai.
It is about 40km from Lao Cai to Sapa, on the highway 4D and take about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Also, from Sapa to Lao Cai, people go on the provincial road 155 (22km), which is parallel to the highway 4D.
2. Buses from Hanoi to Sapa
Getting Sapa from Hanoi, bus is one of the most popular choices because of its convenient. There are some high quality buses to consider like Sapa Express, Eco Sapa, and Goodmorning Sapa buses.
• Sapa Express Bus
Sapa Express offers luxury seating buses (soft seat VIP) and uses Limousine Noble with 29 seats or 45 seats. The bus is air conditioned and passengers are provided cold towels, mineral waters, blankets, pillows, and snacks during the trip.
Pick-up point and drop-off point are at the same in Hanoi and Sapa:
– At Hanoi: 12 Ly Thai To – Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi
– At Sapa: Sapa town
Besides that, Sapa Express provides the service of picking up customer from hotels in Hanoi Old Quarter. The price of this bus is $17/person.
• Eco Sapa Bus
Eco Sapa provides luxury limousine buses with maximum of 9 soft seats. Therefore space is spacious and airy, which is also a strong advantage of this bus. Besides, it also offers English speaking guide for foreign passengers. Each bus is equipped with air-conditioning, LED TV, Wi-fi, electricity sockets, and cup holder. Each ticket includes the transport insurance.
Pick up point and drop off point:
– In Hanoi, it either picks customers up or drops them off at customers’ hotels in Old Quarter.
– In Sapa, it picks customers up at tourist’s hotel and drops them off at 09 Fansipan Road.
The price is higher than Sapa Express with $25.
• Goodmorning Sapa Bus
Goodmorning Sapa has luxury buses, which has 40 soft berths, are equipped with an excellent sound system with DVD, air conditioning, sapa documentary and mineral water. It has English speaking tour guide on bus and each ticket includes the transport insurance.
The pick-up point and drop-off point are the same location in Hanoi and Sapa:
– In Hanoi: 72, Tran Nhat Duat Street or in tourist’s hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter
– In Sapa: 02 Fansipan Road
