Domestic airlines
Airplane transportation has improved significantly for the last years. Traveling by air is the most convenient way in Myanmar. Especially, for serving long distances, passengers can feel comfortable and save time in flights. There are more than 40 airports with 3 international ones with many domestic and international flights.
But around 10 domestic airlines in Myanmar are small, which almost fly to the similar routes and are very comparable in cost, equipment, quality, service (including meal in-flight, 20kgs for check-in baggage and 7kgs for hand-carry baggage), and scheduling. All of domestic airlines in Myanmar are certified according to International Air Transport Association. Some of them share code together so sometimes they may regroup their passengers such as Air Bagan and Asian Wings Airways. They are often based in three biggest cities, Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Twa, and fly to Sittwe, Ann, Bhamo, Dawei, Heho, Kalemyo, Kawthaung, Keng Tung, Kyaukphyu, Lasho, Loikaw, Myeik, Nyaung U, Tachileik, Putao and Tandwe. Aircraft often take off from Yangon at dawn and finish their schedule in the afternoon. Yangon to Mandalay is the most popular routh, with more than 8 flights a day.
Beside point-to-point flights, the airlines fly from one place to another via one or two stops, so customers should check carefully to choose the most comfortable flight.
The airlines support online booking, online payment and e-tickets.
