Myanmar established and launched the first National Museum in June 1952 with the base of the Jubilee Hall. In the early period, the museum played the role of a historical museum with the most fascinating historic artifacts- the “Royal Lion”.
Over time, museum collections are increasingly expanding, the museum moved to a three-storey building on Pansodan Road. However, there are still limitations of these constructions, after undergoing many restorations, The National Museum of Myanmar is now the most ideal place to learn about the history and traditional culture of Myanmar.

The National Museum of Myanmar divided into 14 galleries, followed by two themes: Myanmar culture and historical periods of Myanmar. The museum has 4 floors. The ground floor has 3 rooms, the first floor has 4 rooms, the second floor has 2 rooms, the third floor has 3 rooms and the fourth floor has 4 rooms.
The museum is now displaying rare Myanmar artifacts from prehistoric times, royal relics, temple relics, past travels, artwork, musical instruments and jewelry of the nations…
In addition, the museum houses thousands of fossils and artifacts, royal costumes and musical instruments.
