Maha Wizaya Pagoda bears the unique architecture with the hollow interior, which is one of the most exclusive pagodas in Yangon. This pagoda is larger and older than other pagodas and temples. The Maha Wizaya Pagoda has saved the relics of Buddha by the Nepal King.

After some changes in its design, now the Maha Wizaya Pagoda has eight entrances which are in a symmetrical position. This unique architecture is a remembrance of Buddhist Eightfold Path. Another different feature of this pagoda is coming from the hollow monument. Due to the hollow monument, all the surroundings can be decorated intricately.
The Maha Wizaya Pagoda is currently storing the Nepali relics. In the center of the building is the main stupa. There is a rotunda inside the main stupa with a dome on the top. In the central dome, there are bright murals. The dome is decorated by animal illustration. The walls are grown up with painted trees, their leaves are made from plastic. Maha Wizaya Pagoda is a place for people to experience meditation of Burmese. Many people, because of wanting to stay away from the hustle and bustle of Shewdagon, come to enjoy the atmosphere and the landscapes of this pagoda. The Maha Wizaya Pagoda has been considered one of the most unique pagodas of Myanmar due to its graceful internal adornment.
From the Maha Wizaya Pagoda, tourists can visit adjacent attractions, such as Kandawgyi Nature Park or Kandawgyi Garden and Karaweik.
