Independence Monument was built with very unique architecture, bringing the characteristics of the traditional architecture of Myanmar. Independence Monument is located in the heart of Maha Bandoola Park, Yangon. As a witness to the milestone, the monument was erected to commemorate Burma’s independence from the British in 1948. The Independence Monument is a 46 meter high tower surrounded by five pillars smaller than 9 meters. Around the monument there is a historical summary engraved around the base of the statue and some bronze lions.
