Overview of Phu Quoc weather
Phu Quoc Island, with total area of 567km ² and 49 km long, lies in the Gulf of Thailand in the southwest of Vietnam. Besides 22 large and small islands, it is the largest island in the sea area of Phu Quoc. Situated in low latitudes and deeply in the Gulf of Thailand, and “wrapped” by the sea, therefore, Phu Quoc weather has features of the tropical monsoon. There are two main seasons in the island: dry season and rainy one. The average temperature around year ranges 25-35°C.

In dry season (from November to May), Phu Quoc Island is affected by the north-east monsoon with the average humidity of 78% and the average temperature of 30°C. While April and May are hottest months, January and February are the driest months of the year and also the most popular times for visiting the island. Rainy season begins from June and ends in October. During this season, the weather is cloudy and high humidity (from 85% to 90%) with average rainfall is 3000mm per year. Therefore, travelling Phu Quoc Island in this season might be not a good idea.
Phu Quoc Weather – Best Time to Visit
The favorable time to tourist activities is from November to April with sunny sky, ideal temperature around 25°C – 28°C, and rains occur less. It is also high season so it’s wise to book in advance to find a comfortable accommodation. From April to Jun, in hottest months, the temperature can reach 35 degree and humidity around 80%, but in this period, Phu Quoc is less crowded, the price is also cheaper and the weather is still reasonable. Therefore, tourists can consider visiting Phu Quoc Island in this time.
