Overview of Hue weather

Hue is situated in Central Vietnam on the banks of the Perfume River, borders Quang Tri in the north, Da Nang in the south, Truong Son Mountain Range in the west and East Vietnam Sea in the east. Hue weather is characterized by tropical climate and also affected by climate change between the North and the South. Therefore, the climate in Hue is quite different from both the North and the South of Vietnam. There are two distinct seasons in Hue: wet season and dry season. The average temperature is about 25°C, and sunshine hours are 2000 hours annually.

In Hue province, the weather of regions and areas is different. Coastal and delta regions have two major seasons: dry season starts from March to August while rainy season lasts seven months from August to February. In dry season, the weather is hot, and the temperature can rise to 39°C. Rainy season is also floods and typhoons season. In this time, the rains last several days, sometimes a week, causing big floods. The average temperature is about 19.7°C. In contrast, the climate is cool in the mountainous region when the temperature is from 9-29°C.

It can be said that Hue weather is changeable. Truong Son Mountain Range brings the moisture to Hue, causing a foggy and damp weather. Thus, the winter is cold and rainy. Yet, the temperature can below to 8 degree at night but it also can reach to 30 degree in daytime when the sun comes up. In summer, the weather is very dry and the rains occur unpredictably, but short and may last for weeks.

Hue weather – Best time to visit

Dry season is considered as the best time to visit Hue. In this season, landscapes and seascapes are very beautiful. Travelers can visit tombs, temples and old garden houses that are hundred years old; or you can enjoy sunshine, blue ocean and white sand on wildly beautiful beaches like Thuan An and Lang Co beaches. Besides that, a boat trip along Perfume River is also attractive because in which tourists can watch royal art performance while eating Hue specialties. However, it is also interesting when traveling Hue in rainy season. You can walk under the rain, admire an idyllic natural setting and enjoy a sense of gently and tranquility that unlikely nowhere else but Hue.
