Located in the southwest of Con Son Island, from Con Son town to Thanh Gia mountain peak about 3 km and to the top of the mountain about 6 km with total area of about 2 ha, Thanh Gia mountain peak is the highest mountain in Con Dao being famous for its romantic and elegant natural beauty and the legendary love story behind its appearance in Con Dao island. This is the story of couples standing on top of the mountain and holding their hands to watch the sunset together for a lifetime.
Local people say that conquering the top of the Thanh Gia mountain is a great way to witness the whole beauty of Con Dao island. However, very few people set foot on it due to its sloping, slippery, and dangerous creature under the thick mists surrounding, which is truly adventure for tourists visiting here. The Thanh Gia Mountain Peak also has named the foggy peak because annually there are nine months of fog cover this area. In order to conquer the Thanh Gia mountin peak, tourists have to climb on a monotonous, crooked, and squeezed path. On the way, tourists will pass through An Hai lake area, which is one of the two largest freshwater lakes that provide freshwater to the whole island.
