Kon Tum prison, the historical relic maintains many heroic stories of Vietnamese people against the French colonialists.
Located in the western of Kon Tum town, downstream of the Dak Blam River, Kon Tum prison is one of the prison built by the French to house political prisoners, patriots, and Vietnamese revolutionary soldiers from 1930-1931. After 1975, when the war against the French colonialists was over and the country was returned independence, the Kom Tum prision has become the historical relic of Vietnam that maintains many memorial steles, the tombs of the Vietnamese martyrs associated with the death of 500 political prisoners fighting for the independence of Vietnam.
The Kom Tum prison is divided into four main areas including: Memorial House, Traditional House, Indomitable monument, and two collective tombs. This place really has many meanings for the people of the Central Highlands because it demonstrates the patriotism of the ethnical groups.
